1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the RenoRates platform, website, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including homeowners (Clients) and contractors.
2. Description of Service
RenoRates is an online marketplace that connects homeowners seeking renovation services with licensed contractors. RenoRates does not directly perform renovation work. We facilitate connections, manage lead distribution, and provide communication tools between Clients and Contractors.
3. User Accounts
You must provide accurate, complete, and current information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You may not use another person's account, share your account credentials, or create accounts for deceptive or fraudulent purposes. RenoRates reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to provide accurate project descriptions, respond to contractor inquiries in a timely manner, and maintain respectful communication. Clients must not submit fraudulent or misleading project listings. RenoRates does not guarantee that a contractor will be found for every project.
5. Contractor Responsibilities
Contractors must hold all required licenses, permits, and insurance valid in the jurisdiction in which they operate. Contractors agree not to share client contact information obtained through the platform for purposes unrelated to the project.
Lead purchases are non-refundable except at the discretion of RenoRates staff in cases of fraudulent or unresponsive client listings. Contractors who accumulate three conduct violations may be automatically suspended from the platform.
6. Payments and Credits
Credits purchased through RenoRates are used to unlock client lead information. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. RenoRates does not store full payment card details.
Credits are non-transferable and have no cash value. RenoRates reserves the right to modify credit pricing at any time with reasonable notice.
7. Prohibited Conduct
Users must not: (a) engage in harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour toward other users; (b) submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information; (c) attempt to circumvent the platform to conduct business directly and avoid platform fees; (d) scrape, copy, or otherwise extract platform data without authorisation; (e) use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the RenoRates platform, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of RenoRates or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without express written permission.
9. Disclaimers
RenoRates does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of work performed by contractors listed on the platform. We do not conduct physical background checks or verify the accuracy of contractor-provided credentials beyond document submission. Use of the Service is at your own risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RenoRates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages for renovation work outcomes, lost profits, or data loss.
11. Modifications to Terms
RenoRates may update these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
